Join us at the Library for a Fire Dept. visit!
Hey kids! October is Fire Prevention Month, which means the North Kansas City Fire Department will be stopping by the Library to chat all things fire safety! Join us outside the Library for a visit from the NKCFD, and get an up-close look at a real fire engine. Plus, you'll get the chance to hear about the cool things fire professionals do, and ask any questions you might have.

The crew will be here twice--on Tues, Oct 5 @ 7 pm, and on Wed, Oct 6 @ 10 am--so stop by for the session that suits you! Want a reminder about this event? Sign up here and we'll email you in advance.
Autumn Stroll & Read: NKCPL's Fall Book Walk Pick Is on Signs Now!
Looking for an outdoor outing with the littles in your crew? Head on over to the Library's parking lot perimeter for a fall Book Walk experience: Tou-Can't by local writer (and NKCPL patron!) Brandon Todd. Brandon also illustrated The Bear Must Go On, which we featured on the Book walk last summer. Tou-Can't is the first book Todd has both written and illustrated.

Stop by the Library's parking lot perimeter to stroll and read through October!

Two more weeks of Yoga in the Park!
This month, the Library continues to partner with NKC's Parks and Recreation team to bring outdoor yoga to Macken Park. Grab your mats and water bottles, folks! These sessions, facilitated by yoga instructor Tina Duer, are free and open to all.

Sessions are offered every Thursday evening through Oct 14. Class starts at 6:30 pm and meets near the the Gazebo/tennis courts at Macken Park.

Make the Move: Overdrive to Libby!
Do you use the Libby app for digital items? Libby is the Overdrive collection in an updated app. In fact, starting in February, Overdrive will begin “sunsetting” its legacy Overdrive app, and updating Libby (exclusively) instead. This is just one more reason--along with Libby’s intuitive design and bevy of handy features--to make the leap to Libby for your digital books and magazines. To find it, search "Libby" in your device's app store.
