Peoples' Day!
The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum also offers free admission on Monday and begins its programming with a Land Acknowledgment from Elizabeth Solomon of the Massachusett Tribe at Ponkapoag. Sculpt a pendant using air-dry clay, molds, and other materials in the education studio from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jannette Vanderhoop (Aquinnah Wampanoag) reads from her children's book "Cranberry Day: A Wampanoag Harvest Celebration" at noon and 2 p.m. Watch a dance performance by choreographer Mar Parrilla (Taíno Afroborikua) in Calderwood Hall at 3 p.m., followed by a discussion with BIPOC activists and community leaders about intersectional Indigenous identities. National Hispanic Heritage Month

National Hispanic Heritage Month (Spanish: Mes Nacional de la Herencia Hispana) is a period from 15 September to 15 October in the United States for recognizing the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States.

"College Month" is aimed at helping EMK students and their families navigate the college application process. College Month events provide families with crucial information about various aspects of college preparation, such as application procedures, financial aid, scholarships, and campus life. Families can interact with school counselors and college advisors, gaining insights tailored to their child's academic strengths and interests. Click here for more information.

PSAT on Wednesday, October 11th
|
Students in grades 10 & 11 will take the Practice-SAT online at each campus on Wednesday, October 11th. Students will be dismissed following the exam. EMK Students Visit the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the U.S. Senate
|
On Friday, September 29, thanks to Mr. Aufiero, the EMK History Teacher, organized a field trip for seniors to visit the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the U.S. Senate. These students hammered out details of the Farm Bill while role-playing as members of Congress, discussing background checks for SNAP benefits and the regulatory burdens on the dairy market. Very impressive!

EMK Students Visit Providence College
|
On Friday, September 22, thanks to Ms. Khatcherian, EMK Health Teacher, and chaperones Mr. Brown and Mr. Molina, EMK students in grades 9-11 participated in a basketball clinic sponsored by Providence College. Players Bryce Hopkins & Jayden Pierre (men’s team) and Nariah Scott & Sarah Bandoma (women’s team) welcomed our students. EMK students also toured the practice facility, had lunch provided by Providence College, and received a tour of the nursing school by Katherine Hypolite-MacAnnis, Strategic Planning. Lastly, EMK students met with alumni Camila Soto & Zinely Fernandez now attending Providence College!!

Monthly Pancake Breakfast at Each Campus
|
We are excited to announce a new initiative at our high school that will encourage attendance and foster a sense of community among our students. Starting this month, we will introduce a Monthly Pancake Breakfast as an attendance incentive for our high school students. We understand the importance of regular student attendance in ensuring academic success and well-being. On the first Monday of every month, students who are on time will be treated to a delicious pancake breakfast in the school cafeteria. If you would like to volunteer, please contact the school.

Edward M. Kennedy Academy for Health Careers is a college preparatory and vocational high school for Boston students exploring careers in health and health-related professions. The Academy provides a supportive learning environment that promotes respect and embraces diversity. Students will attain the life skills needed to become productive and positive members of society.
