October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

On October 1, our team at Project Safeguard joined the Rose Andom Center in their walk to start Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Our Executive Director, Jody Curl, had the opportunity to share about PSG's work in support of survivors of domestic violence. We're proud to stand with such incredible organizations and advocates!

Ticket sales end on October 17 for our fall fundraiser, A Night at the Museum!

We invite you to be a part of something truly powerful—and profoundly meaningful. Join us at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science to celebrate over four decades of unwavering service, raise critical funds, and honor the courage of those we support.

Our evening will include cocktails, dinner, auctions, and inspiring stories from a survivor. All proceeds directly support Project Safeguard’s mission to end gender-based violence.

Maria Hannon

Maria has over 25 years of experience as a human resource professional, building her career with mission-driven organizations where people are central to success. She has actively served on Denver-area nonprofit boards throughout her career and, with an earlier background in counseling women and families, has a deep connection to organizations that support families. Her personal connection to the mission strengthens her commitment to advancing safety, healing, and empowerment. In addition to her work, Maria is a professional artist who exhibits locally and enjoys hiking and camping in the Colorado outdoors. She holds degrees in Family and Environmental Resources, Psychology, and graduate work in Marriage and Family Therapy along with certifications in professional mediation and advanced HR practice.

Crissy Fanganello

Crissy grew up in Denver, the middle of three sisters. Her career was primarily in the public sector, which she deeply enjoyed. She has two incredible daughters, and currently lives in Golden with her husband and their two dogs.

She serves on Project Safeguard’s board of directors for all the girls, women, and other vulnerable individuals who have experienced unwanted, unsolicited, and inappropriate sexualized interest, aggression, and force. For the mental and physical anguish society normalizes as a part of intimate relationships and the resulting feelings of shame and inadequacy that can affect us forever. For herself and others who didn't know resources like Project Safeguard existed and didn't know how or what to do to help.
