Because of the upsurge of Delta-variant Covid, we are asking that everyone wear a mask in the store. We are a small space, and Delta has been infecting the vaccinated as well those who still haven't figured out how serious this is and aren't vaccinated. Please do not yell at our staff - they are dealing with the public every day, and we want them to be safe.

IF JUST ONE PERSON ON OUR STAFF GETS SICK, WE WILL HAVE TO CLOSE FOR 2 WEEKS. THAT WOULD BE A HUGE FINANCIAL PROBLEM FOR US AS A SMALL BUSINESS WITH PERISHABLE PRODUCT. A MASK IS NOT PUNISHMENT, IT'S NOT POLITICAL, IT'S A WAY TO PREVENT THE TRANSMISSION OF GERMS.

FRESH SEAFOOD SPECIALS 10/12-14:
You can finally feel the changing of the seasons in the cooler air. But there are still plenty of nice days ahead, for grilling up some fresh fish. Our supply of fresh summer veggies is going down, fall ones are arriving, hot ready-to-eat soups will be starting soon - and you can always take them home frozen and enjoy them whenever you want. Many of our soups are hearty enough to make it your meal.

Absolutely great for grilling - firm meaty flesh. A little known fact - wild salmon can't be called organic, because we don't know what it eats. This salmon is raised with no antibiotics and only organic food, hence the organic designation. Try it with our Lemon Dill Sauce or one of the tasty Stonewall Kitchen's sauces. Just because we're a fish store doesn't mean we can't get in on the fall pumpkin craze! Our resident baker, Clair, has created a new fall scone - pumpkin - to join her other customer favorites, blueberry and cranberry orange. Then Sean decided we should have a pumpkin pie tart. We love it when our kids come up with delicious ideas! Our pumpkin treats will be here through Thanksgiving, then gone until next fall. Get 'em while you can!

Made fresh daily, our salmon cozies are some of our most popular oven-ready entrees. Just pop in the oven for about 20 minutes at 375 degrees. They come with a small container of Lemon Dill Sauce to add at the end of cooking.

Great on grilled fish, tasty on toasted bread rounds or crackers. We love it on French bread rounds, lightly toasted, topped with pesto, then warmed under the broiler for 60 seconds. Written up in the Chicago Tribune food pages a few years back.

NEW CHECK OUT SYSTEM
We have just launched a new checkout system, tied into new scales, which we are not used to yet. Instead of having specials that last for two months, we will be having specials posted in the store in addition to the ones in our twice weekly blasts. Once we get used to making all the changes required for sale items, we may go back to the way we were doing things. In the meantime, daily specials will be posted on whiteboards in the store.
Our goal is to come into the 21st century with our check out system - we hope it will improve your shopping experience as well as our efficiency!

   In late June we catered a fun event for a family in Wilmette - a combined 40th and 5th birthday party, father and son. Another father and son duo, Burhop's Chef Jaime and his son Jonny, cooked up kebabs, lobster tails, sweet corn and more for a happy crowd of many ages. According to the hostess: 
"An AMAZING feast thanks to you, John and Jamie. The food was amazing and the chefs could not have been nicer. Everyone was raving and we certainly let them know who to call!  Thank you again, you have very satisfied customers." 
   Recently we did an oyster bar for a party in Hinsdale, and a lobster tail birthday party in Kenilworth. 
And in early October, we did a socially distanced wedding reception with individual lobster boil dinners.
