The therapeutic benefits of yoga improve strength and flexibility in body and mind. In addition to strengthening and improving elasticity of the muscles, yoga builds bone density and studies show that yoga improves lymphatic function, boosting the immune system. The use of yoga postures, breath work, and meditation are tools to move toward greater health and well-being.

Childbirth Preparation Classes
Classes begin September 6 with additional class on September 13 and 20 to complete the series

This is a series of three virtual classes that are taught live with nurse instructors. They will discuss and explore these topics: stages of labor and delivery, relaxation and breathing techniques, labor coping skills for the labor process and postpartum care. Community Naloxone Training

Free; no pre-registration required
Equip yourself with knowledge and tools necessary to save lives from an overdose at this free walk up or drive-up Naloxone/Narcan training event. Attendees are welcome to walk or drive up anytime between 12 and 2 to receive this brief but informative lifesaving training. You must be 14 years of age to receive a Save a Life kit which includes 2 doses of 4 mg Nasal Narcan. Trans-Voice Virtual Support Group
September 12th | 2nd Tuesday of each month | 7 – 8 p.m.

Voice is an important part of who we are. It’s the instrument through which we communicate and express ourselves — including how we convey our personalities and gender identities. For many transgender individuals, having a voice that corresponds with their gender identity can reduce stress and anxiety and assist in the transition process. We are offering a support group for the transgender community to find your most authentic voices. Please be sure to sign-up at least 24 hours beforehand. All meeting times are set to EST. West Bloomfield Parks presents their senior concert and lunch, “Tastes and Tunes” at Marshbank Park. Bring a chair and some dancing shoes for the senior social event of the season. 10th Annual Silent Witness Ceremony

The Henry Ford Intimate-Partner Violence, Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking Prevention Committee and HAVEN of Oakland County are teaming up for the 10th annual Silent Witness Ceremony. The ceremony is a commemoration service that honors victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault from Michigan over the past year.
