Hello dear friends and clients,
I wanted to share this glorious sunset photo from Bigfork that I took last week to let you know I am thinking of you and hoping you are yours are well wherever this finds you.
In real estate, our numbers are still going strong. Average price is up and days on market continue to be short. Comparing average sales price for residential listings from January to September, the price has risen from $426,994 to $525,076. Price per square feet for the same period moved from $167 to $197 and days on market continue to decline, from 20 days in January to 9 in September. If you are considering a move, let me know. Our market is strong and our inventory is low. My experience, consistent record and excellent negotiating skills will successfully lead you toward a sale at the right price.
The Lang Team is here to make your real estate dreams come true whatever they are, wherever you are. Another perk for you as a seller is our exclusive membership in Forbes Global Properties. What does this mean? When you list your luxury, high end property, your home will be opened up to the international market via the forbesglobalproperties.com website as well as access to the entire Forbes marketing platform. Here's another advantage. Maybe you have always wanted to have a home in Florida, France, Hawaii or the place of your dreams. I can use my Forbes Global Properties referral network to connect you with an expert and knowledgeable Realtor in many national and international markets.
Stay safe and let's make Fall of 2021 your best season ever!

A $50,000 hole in one, and a whole lotta margaritas made for a memorable and successful fundraiser for the Friends of Bigfork Fire Department's golf tournament. Cheers to next year! I was there and I'm pretty sure that my cuteness helped the cause!

Denise's Cooking Corner - Asparagus Goat Cheese Tarragon Tart
A tart is a beautiful thing!
|
|
INGREDIENTS
1 large egg, lightly beaten, at room temperature
1 large garlic clove, finely grated or minced
1 ½ tablespoons chopped fresh tarragon leaves, plus more for serving
½ tablespoon finely grated lemon zest
½ teaspoon fine sea salt, plus more for sprinkling
Pinch of freshly grated nutmeg
1 cup crème fraîche, at room temperature (8 ounces)
All-purpose flour, for dusting the work surface
1 sheet or square all-butter puff pastry, thawed if frozen (about 9 to 14 ounces; brands vary)
8 ounces thin asparagus, woody ends trimmed
Extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan
PREPARATION
Heat oven to 425 degrees. In a medium bowl, use a fork or a wooden spoon to mash together the goat cheese, egg, garlic, tarragon, lemon zest, salt and nutmeg until smooth. Switch to a whisk and beat in the crème fraîche until smooth.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out puff pastry into a 13-by-11-inch rectangle about 1/8-inch thick. Transfer the dough to a parchment-lined cookie sheet. With a sharp knife, lightly score a 1/2-inch border around the edges of the puff pastry.
Spread the crème fraîche mixture evenly inside the scored border. Line up the asparagus spears on top, and brush them with olive oil. Sprinkle some salt and the grated Parmesan over the asparagus.
Bake until the pastry is puffed and golden, 25 to 30 minutes. Let it cool on the cookie sheet for at least 15 minutes or up to 4 hours before serving. Then sprinkle black pepper, red-pepper flakes (if using), the shaved Parmesan and tarragon leaves. Drizzle a little oil on top.
TIP
You can assemble the tart 1 day in advance but reserve the sprinkling of salt and grated Parmesan until right before baking. Loosely cover the tart and store it in the refrigerator until it's time to bake.

Denise's Book Corner - Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
|
|
Most of us, know the story of Dr. Frankenstein, who built a monster in his lab. The story and its author, Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin Shelley, have been the subject of many theses since 1818 when Mary Shelley published it anonymously. She began the writing when she was 18, losing a baby during the writing. By the time she finished, she was pregnant with her third child. Interestingly, she did not put her name on the book for fear of losing custody of her children, nor did she put a name to her "monster."
Like the unnamed creature pieced together from cadavers collected by Victor Frankenstein, her own name was an assemblage of parts. She had the name of her mother, the feminist Mary Wollstonecraft, stitched to that of her father, the philosopher William Godwin, and grafted onto that of her husband, the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley. Her diary entries revealed that she erased herself as an author, insisting that the story had come to her in a dream.
For 200 years, Frankenstein has been the subject of theories and metaphors for just about everything. Most lately, it has been taken as a cautionary tale for Silicon Valley technologists. The Frankenstein Bicentennial Project by Arizona State University was created for formal and informal learning opportunities, studies, and publications that explore the novel’s scientific, technological, artistic, cultural and social impacts. Most recent analysis of Frankenstein is a catechism for designers of robots and inventors of artificial intelligences investigating the responsibility of creation.
