PURE Insurance Championship
The Pure Insurance Championship provides First Tee participants a national stage on which to showcase the skills and values they’ve learned at their local chapter. Throughout this week Margaret Kerr, Emma Poffinbarger and Victoria Routzong were able to network with peers, PGA Tour Champions players and leaders from the business world competing in the amateur field.
Our chapter made history with Margaret Kerr being the first FTGH participant to win the Pro/Jr event! Margaret and her partner, Steven Alker, made a great par on the final hole securing the one-shot victory. Congratulations to our outstanding girls on an amazing week at Pebble Beach!

Congratulations to Jazmine Harris on completing her ACE Certification with First Tee – Greater Houston!
ACE Certification is the highest level a participant can achieve in the First Tee program. It recognizes advanced leadership, personal growth, and life skills development — preparing young people for success both on and off the golf course. Earning this certification is no small feat and reflects years of Jazmine's hard work, perseverance, and impact in the community.
Jazmine also served as a Summer Intern at Memorial Park, traveled to Atlanta to attend the First Tee Leadership Academy, and now attends the University of Houston, majoring in Hospitality. In her spare time, she continues to give back by working at our Law Park facility, mentoring the next generation of participants.
Jazmine, your dedication and passion for making a difference truly shine through. We’re incredibly proud of you and can’t wait to see what’s next!

Pickney Personal Par Classic
First Tee hosts tournaments throughout the year that help our students connect with participants from other locations around Houston, learn the rules of tournament golf, and enjoy a Saturday on the course!
This year, on November 8th, we will be honoring our very own, Coach Johnny Pickney from Sharpstown Golf Course. Coach Johnny has been with First Tee for over ten years after his daughter enrolled in a class. We're glad she did and we appreciate you, Coach!

How does it work? The Angel Tree program is a holiday gift drive that connects donors with children in need. Each “angel” represents a child, and donors can “adopt” an angel to provide gifts like clothing and toys based on the child’s wish list.
To participate, you can sign up in-person at F. M. Law Park or Memorial Park, after which you'll receive an email with your angel's details—such as age, clothing sizes, and gift wishes!
If you're interested in adopting and you attend class at Battleground, Bayou, Gus Wortham, Quail Valley, or Sharpstown, you'll need to email your Program staff directly to sign-up.

| | Big shoutout to our incredible eLeaders—Bailey, Chloe, Faith, Gabby, Keidyn, Lucy, Marlana, and Tessa—for leading the charge at our September Exercise Experience! If you're aged 13–18 and eager to make an impact, gain volunteer hours, and build skills that shine on college applications, the eLeader program is for you. | | | | 🌟 Inaugural Junior Advisory Board 🌟 | | |
First Tee – Greater Houston is launching its very first Junior Advisory Board (JAB), a crew of teens ages 14–18 who will help shape what’s next for our programs and community impact! These future leaders will represent their peers, share ideas, and make sure our initiatives truly reflect what matters most to juniors and teens.
JAB will run like a student council—members will elect their own leaders, collaborate on projects, and bring fresh energy to everything we do. It’s all about building character, amplifying youth voices, and making a difference in Greater Houston!

Big Things Are Coming to F. M. Law Park
F. M. Law Park is where it all began for so many kids throughout Houston—and after years of play, it’s time to refresh! Spanning 2,473 yards of natural turf, Houston’s only nine-hole municipal golf club for kids serves as a free, safe space for thousands of First Tee students and their families each year.
Thanks to supporters like you, we’ve already reached one-third of our $6M goal! This campaign will bring much-needed upgrades, including renovated buildings and kid-friendly recreational areas, improved irrigation and drainage, and totally renovated course, driving range, and practice areas.
Check out all the plans and secure your spot in First Tee history by donating to have your name on the course forever. We will also be selling bricks for the holidays which can be in honor or memory of someone special.
