Breast Cancer Awareness Events

  • Bingo, dinner and silent auction to benefit St. Joseph Cancer Center on Saturday, October 5 hosted by the Bellingham Moose Lodge. 21+ event. 150 W. Axton Rd. #4, Bellingham.


  • Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Bellis Fair Mall. It's sponsored by PeaceHealth St. Joseph Cancer Center and Bellis Fair Mall in Bellingham. Credit is given to walkers for every lap completed, with $1 donated to the St. Joseph Cancer Center Patient Experience fund. The goal is to raise $1,500.   • My Sister’s Keeper no-cost community breakfast and breast cancer awareness discussion happens from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 25. Mended Hearts

The next Mended Hearts meeting is 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Health Education Center (HEC 3333 Squalicum Parkway, Bellingham, WA. Advance Directive Workshop for Cancer Patients

The PeaceHealth St. Joseph Cancer Center hosts a monthly advance care planning session for patients with cancer. The class meets at 3 p.m. on the second Thursday at the Cancer Center, 3301 Squalicum Parkway in Bellingham. Participants can complete directive documents at the workshop. Advance Care Directive Classes

Your Voice, Your Choice Advance Care Directive classes are offered monthly from 3 to 5 p.m. on the second Wednesday in the lower level conference room at Cordata Main in Bellingham. Next class is Oct. 9. Call 360-752-5267 if you have questions.


Centering Pregnancy Program

If you're expecting a baby, consider joining the Centering Pregnancy Program at the Cordata South clinic in Bellingham. The prenatal care program combines expert healthcare with support in 10 fun, interactive group appointments with others who are pregnant. Ask your OB-GYN about this resource.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

For the month of October, the breast care suite team at PeaceHealth United General Medical Center is giving every patient who comes in for a mammogram a bag of treats and a chance to win a gift certificate to the Train Wreck Bar & Grill in Burlington. Call 360-788-6345 to schedule your mammogram.


Advance Care Directive Classes

Your Voice, Your Choice Advance Care Directive classes are offered monthly from 3 to 5 p.m. on the third Wednesday in the cafeteria at United General in Sedro-Woolley Next class is Oct. 16. Call 360-752-5267 if you have questions.


United General Hospital District Classes

United General Hospital District in Sedro-Woolley offers a wide variety of helpful health-oriented classes and events. Below are two examples:


Play and Grow Drop-In Group

At 11 a.m., every Tuesday, this one-hour drop-in session includes songs, playtime with baby and discussions on development, feeding, sleep and other related topics. Connect with other parents to share the joys and challenges of parenting. Sessions meet at Heartwood House, 136 Highway 20, Sedro-Woolley.
