Diabetes Support Group 

Find support and learn more about managing diabetes at this monthly group meeting from 5 to 6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month at Oregon Heart & Vascular Institute’s demonstration kitchen in Springfield. The next meeting is Oct. 1. To sign up, email cjacobson3@peacehealth.org


Heart Walk and Talk

Join a free walking group 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., the first Thursday of the month. The next session is Oct. 3. Learn from heart-health experts while you get fresh air and exercise on the scenic paths at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend. Meet near the arches with quotes by the emergency department. Free parking is available in designated OHVI parking.


NICU Family Reunion

Did you or a family member receive care in the PeaceHealth Neonatal Intensive Care Unit? NICU graduates and staff are invited to the 42nd annual NICU reunion Sunday, Oct. 6, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at RiverBend on the back lawn near the emergency department entrance. Bring a blanket. PeaceHealth will provide snacks and a variety of fun activities. RSVP using this link.


Shop with a Dietitian

Shopping for healthy food is easy with a nutrition expert by your side. Join PeaceHealth registered dietitian Cecelia Jacobson for a free personalized shopping session at Market of Choice from 2 to 3 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month. Stroke Support Group

Life after a stroke isn't easy. Talking to others who have been through a stroke may help. Mark your calendar to join one or both support groups:

  • First Wednesday of every month at 2 p.m. features various speakers and an opportunity to connect with other stroke survivors. The group meets in person. The next session is Oct. 2.
  • Third Wednesday of every month, 10:30 a.m. to noon, geared toward social support and sharing stories by stroke survivors and caregivers. Currently, meets virtually. The next session is Oct. 16.

HEARTsafe Meeting

Have you survived or been impacted by sudden cardiac arrest? HEARTsafe Eugene/Springfield and PeaceHealth host a support group that meets 4 to 5 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of the month. The next meeting is Oct. 22. In-person attendees meet in room 200CD at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend. Virtual attendees, email heartsafe@peacehealth.org for a link.

Better Breathers Club

Join the free monthly Better Breathers Club 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 at Peace Harbor Medical Center in Conference Room C. This American Lung Association-affiliated support group helps people with a pulmonary condition. Each meeting features different speakers and activities. Everyone is welcome. Come for support and camaraderie as well as tools to help you breathe better.


Every 15 Minutes Program

PeaceHealth Peace Harbor Medical Center and Western Lane Fire & EMS are hosting a two-day underage impaired driving prevention program Wednesday, Oct. 9 and Thursday, Oct. 10 at Siuslaw High School. Scheduled activities include a mock crash scene, a guest speaker and other educational resources.


CPR/Stop the Bleed Class

Do you want to learn or refresh CPR and first aid knowledge? Join this free class on life-saving skills Friday, Oct. 11 at Siuslaw High School.


Doc Talk
