Lifting the Veil: Effective Employer/Employee Tools and Techniques to Navigate the Pandemic
October 29th
12-1p.m.
The Center is a Sustaining Sponsor of these free, live, online events, continuing the conversation about mental health issues in the pandemic. These events will be dynamic, solution-oriented discussions that leave our attendees with practical tools for coping during challenging times. The events will be virtual talk-show style, with dsm guest contributor and Iowa business leader Deidre DeJear leading candid conversations with mental health leaders responding to questions from viewers. The 21-Day Equity Challenge, Oct 5-Nov 2, is a powerful opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of how inequity and racism affect our lives and our community. Daily topics include Understanding Privilege, Housing & Redlining, Justice System Inequities, Allyship, and many more. The experience will deepen understanding, suggest ways to take action, and help launch what we hope will be a lifelong commitment to improving equity and inclusion in our community. Support group for survivors of suicide loss
Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the Survivor of Suicide Loss Group will be held live online until further notice. If you've lost a loved one to suicide and need support, please contact Andrea Severson at [email protected].
This support group is offered as a free community service, with thanks to generous supporters of the Des Moines Pastoral Counseling Center.

Our next discussion series will start in September. We are reading together the young adult novel, "The Hate You Give" by Angie Thomas. |
