As I write this note from Beirut where I am currently visiting for the
Artscoops Auction, our minds once more focused on the vibrant Middle Eastern art scene both in the region and internationally. With each new month, we are delighted to hear about new exhibitions and events which play host to the amazing and varied talents of these artists. Indeed so many are they, that we are not always able to list them in their entirety (note the timely retrospective of the Emirati master Abdulqader Al Rais at the
Institut du Monde Arabe for one).
With the auction season well under way in Europe, we have selected a number of articles in our
Art Matters section on tips for navigating the auction world and as our
Inspiration piece, we focus on the work on Iranian composer Mehdi Rajabian who sends a message of peace through his music.
We are also particularly proud to be collaborating with
Fann A Porter Gallery at The Workshop in Dubai in an online exhibition on
Artsy of the charming works of Syrian artists
Houssam Ballan and
Majd Kurdieh. All works are for sale - do take a look!
And finally, as you may also know, as well as sending out our monthly newsletter, in our capacity as advisors to private clients, institutions and auction houses, we are always pleased to be informed about works you wishing to acquire or to sell and will give you confidential and informed advice on how best to proceed.
We look forward to hearing from you and hope to see you in London soon.
