October is here and yes we know you are busy, so we will keep this short!

If you're in London this week, no doubt you will be heading to one of the many fairs and if not, perhaps you will be going to Paris for FIAC or visiting London later for the auctions of African Art at Sotheby's (15th) and Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art at Sotheby's (22nd), Bonhams and Christie's (23rd).

Further afield, we are looking forward to heading off to Beirut for the Artscoops Auction on 9th October taken by London based auctioneer Adrian Biddell .

Back to the newsletter and we have a packed What's On section to enjoy browsing. Further down, our Art Matters section this month looks at sustainability in art and finally we take our Inspiration from Marlene Rose's intriguing glass art.

Have a wonderful month! With all best wishes from the JRFA team

Greetings! if you enjoy our newsletters, why not make a donation of just £2 (less than an Uber fare to Frieze) towards our ongoing production costs. Every donation counts and the support of readers like you makes all the difference.

ART MATTERS
On Art and Sustainability
SOME INSPIRATION
Marlene Rose's glass art is seductive and ethereal. But to get the unique shapes of her works, she uses an ancient yet rare technique called sand casting. She demonstrated her art to correspondent Lee Cowan, and created her own glistening version of the "Sunday Morning" sun.
