I have been receiving calls regarding an odor on Allegheny Road by Saddlebrook Farms. I checked with the Lake County Health Department and received this from them.
"The odors are related to the Saddlebrook Farm spray irrigation/waste water treatment system which is located near the entrance off of Allegheny Road. There are three lagoons associated with the system, primary, secondary and winter storage. Reportedly, the primary lagoon has become stagnant (gone anaerobic) causing the odors. The operator said approximately 25 aeration units will be installed by the weekend to re-aerate the lagoon. The system is regulated by the Illinois EPA Bureau of Water."
