A FATHER & SON STORY

Greetings!

While the traditional Christmas story tells of a Father sending His Son into the world to express the miracles of love and forgiveness, we want to share a very different father and son story that also expresses a miracle.

As inmates in the Texas prison system, this father and son are both currently incarcerated, and both were enrolled in the Fall 2025 season of Bridges To Life. After graduating from the program, they each sent us their own words of gratitude:

From the Son:

"Being in Bridges To Life with my Dad has been a life-changing experience. It has opened my eyes in so many ways. It has helped restore my relationship with my Dad and the rest of my family. It has also helped me find a closer relationship with God."

From the Dad:

"This opportunity has been a time of dealing with past hurts, allowing me to recognize the importance of forgiveness, and also making amends with people I have hurt. My son and I have begun an incredible healing process because of Bridges To Life."

As this father and son (shown above) experienced, the mission of BTL includes ministering to victims and offenders in an effort to show them the transforming power of God’s love and forgiveness. At this time of year, we celebrate these divine attributes and pray that we may all share God's love and forgiveness in our lives, both now and in the new year ahead.

Gratefully,

A LOOK INSIDE BTL

Have you ever wondered what it's really like when we go into a prison, sit down with the inmates, and guide them through the BTL program?

Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church (MDPC) sent a film crew to find out! You can watch the 5-minute video here (click on the image below):

With tremendous thanks to the staff and film crew of MDPC,

A SPECIAL REQUEST

After steadily rebuilding our volunteer base in the post-pandemic years, we are pleased to report that we are now approaching the peak levels of program activity that we had reached in 2019. Nevertheless, we are also facing one of our biggest challenges, as are many of you: the negative effects of significant inflation. Despite having the same number of staff and expenses that we had in 2019, our budget has increased by 30%!

This means that, with only two weeks left in the year, we are still short of our 2025 budget by $250,000. Please help us close this gap with a year-end donation so that we may continue offering our life-changing program on solid financial ground.
