News & Updates

LAClibrary is on social media

Do you follow LAClibrary on Instagram or Facebook? We have been sharing news about events and programs, about upcoming holidays, and we have a regular series of posts from our library staff about titles in our collections. We have shared a new trend in book covers, made suggestions for upcoming titles to place on hold to have first dibs when they arrive on our shelves, and described (in German!) a new award-winning book in our World Languages collection.

Saving Seeds, by KokHeong McNaughton

During this seasonal pause in growing lush gardens, one of our library's important volunteer of the Seed Library Steering Committee has shared an article about the best ways to collect seeds from your garden. Explore what KokHeong has to share and learn about how you can support the Seed Library at the Los Alamos Public Library.

Development at the Library: Outdoor Classroom

Learn about the preliminary plans for an outdoor classroom located between Mesa Public Library and the Betty Ehart Senior Center. At the January 6 Library Board meeting Lloyd and Associates Architects will present a draft design for this space. Attend in person in Room 110 at the Municipal Meeting or via Zoom at https://us06web.zoom.us/j/85215643936. The meeting begins at 5:30.

Friends of the Library

Bookstore at Mesa Public Library

Every month, the Friends’ Bookstore has a Redcart Special--all books on the red cart are pay-what-you-like. The Redcart Special for January is Biographies and Memoirs.

Also in January, if you’re looking for things to improve your lifestyle, there are books and DVDs that will help you with your mental and physical well-being, now and throughout 2025.
