Three New Trends in Office Design

As many of you likely know, office design is a perpetually moving target. Organizations grow, situations change, and the way we work evolves every year. The last two years especially have been a whirlwind of new practices and differing demands. Below are three of the hottest trends in office design, as illustrated by photos from some of our recent projects.

Trend 1: Private Spaces in Open Offices Open offices are definitely en vogue, but the need for privacy hasn't gone away. Whether it's a soundproofed space or just a nook set aside from the rest of the office, it's always helpful to have a space for discussion free from distraction or outside sounds.

Trend 2: Furniture That Flexes It's been a while since offices were totally rigid in their layouts, but every year they get more and more flexible in their layouts. It's a great way to maximize your square footage. With the right layout, the same room can be a meeting space, screening room, work station, and event hall with fairly minor adjustments.

Trend 3: Writable Space Everywhere In the past, whiteboards were a mainstay in conference rooms and creative lounges, but that was about it. Now, whiteboards are turning up in offices, huddle rooms, and just about anywhere else where work gets done. They're becoming a must have for collaborative spaces everywhere.
