UCSF bestows the annual Chancellor Principles of Community Awards to faculty, staff, and learners who have contributed significantly to efforts that empower UCSF’s excellence and expand belonging in their respective fields and in the communities they serve. This year's awardees were honored in a ceremony at Mission Bay on Thursday, October 16, 2025.

UCSF mourns the passing of Alice Wong, disability rights activist, scholar, and writer. As a UCSF student and staff member, Wong advocated for universal accessibility and disability justice, establishing meaningful changes in policy and programming across the university. She founded the Disability Interest Group at UCSF, and is recipient of two UCSF Chancellor Awards.
All UCSF faculty, staff, and learners are invited to attend the opening reception for an exhibit that explores a pivotal moment in disability rights history known as the “504 Sit-In." Organized by the Disability Resource Center with UCSF Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care, the exhibit runs through February 1, 2026.
