Nominate Your Research Mentor!

The goal of the Outstanding Undergraduate Research Mentor Award is to increase awareness about the importance of mentoring undergraduates in research, scholarly activities and creative works and to recognize USD faculty that bring respect and excellence to these activities. We are currently soliciting nominations for the OURMA award.

Undergraduate researchers,
the deadline to nominate your faculty research mentor is 10/28/16. More information can be found on the OUR profile page.

Register as a Research Scholar

Conducting Research?

Students engaged in undergraduate research/scholarship activities and creative works are eligible to become Research Scholars regardless of funding source or formal program affiliation.

Virtual Poster Showcase

The Virtual Poster Showcase (VPS) is a low-cost and high-value online poster presentation opportunity that allows students to share their research without having to travel to a conference. Students are guided through the essential peer-review process, during which they learn to evaluate each other's research.

Lawrence Hinman Research Grant Application

Deadline: Monday, October 24

The USD Honors Program invites all Honors students in their Junior or Senior year to apply for the Hinman Grant. Award winners receive up to $500, which can be spent on thesis research, a presentation for a conference, or travel to present at a conference. Applications will be due by 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24.

Hertz Foundation Graduate Fellowship

The Hertz Foundation Graduate Fellowship Program is available for the citizens or permanent residents of the United States of America who are enrolled in applied physical, biological and engineering sciences or mathematics field of study.

Travel Awards to Present Research

Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) Travel Award

USD's Office of Undergraduate Research may award up to $500 per student (or up to $1,000 per group) to present original research, scholarly, or creative projects at a regional or national conference.
