Travel Awards to Present Research
For Psychology Majors: Student Travel Award for Research (STAR)
The Department of Psychological Sciences is pleased to announce the Fall 2016 call for Student Travel Awards for Research (STAR) grants. All of the information (including eligibility requirements) needed to apply can be found on the STAR website. The deadline for applying is October 31st.

Nominate Your Research Mentor!

The goal of the Outstanding Undergraduate Research  Mentor Award is to increase awareness about the importance of  mentoring undergraduates in research, scholarly activities and creative works and to recognize USD  faculty that bring respect and excellence to these activities. We are currently soliciting  nominations for the OURMA award. 

Undergraduate researchers,

NOAA Graduate Student Funding


AAS Mass Media Science & Engineering Fellows Program 

 
The AAAS Mass Media Science & Engineering Fellows Program places science, engineering, and mathematics students and postdocs at media organizations nationwide. Fellows have worked as reporters, editors, researchers, and production assistants at media outlets that include the Los Angeles Times, WIRED, National Public Radio, National Geographic Society, and Scientific American.

The AAAS Fellows use their academic training in the sciences as they research, write and report today's headlines, while sharpening their abilities to communicate complex scientific issues to the public. The Fellowship experience broadens the fellow's career path while increasing the public's understanding of science and technology. Lawrence Hinman Research Grant Application

Deadline: Monday, October 24

The USD Honors Program invites all Honors students in their Junior or Senior year to apply for the Hinman Grant. Award winners receive up to $500, which can be spent on thesis research, a presentation for a conference, or travel to present at a conference. Applications will be due by  3 p.m. on  Monday, Oct. 24.

Hertz Foundation Graduate Fellowship

The Hertz Foundation Graduate Fellowship Program is available for the citizens or permanent residents of the United States of America who are enrolled in  applied physical, biological and engineering sciences or mathematics field of study.

The Fellowship Deadline is October 28, 2016.
