Greetings!
Welcome to the latest edition of Anne Arundel Justice!
In honor of those impacted by intimate partner violence, our Office dedicated October's National Domestic Violence Awareness Month to helping individuals in shelter at the YWCA's Safe House by collecting donations from our staff of much needed personal care items.
The YWCA serves as a critical lifeline for people in our community experiencing domestic violence at home, and our Office is grateful for the opportunity to support the YWCA and their important mission!
Thank you to members of our Circuit Court, Annapolis and Glen Burnie District Courts, Body Worn Camera Unit, and Circuit Court Criminal Clerk's Office for their participation in this effort.

| | Glen Burnie Man Pleads Guilty, Sentenced to Division of Correction for Vehicle Theft and Eluding Police | | |
On October 22, 2025, Zachary Ernesto Rolf, 44, of Glen Burnie, plead guilty to felony motor vehicle theft and fleeing and eluding police. Following the plea, the Honorable Judge Mark Crooks sentenced Rolf to a total of six years in the Division of Correction, the maximum possible sentence.
"This was a really brazen move by the defendant to steal a truck while the owner was loading lumber into it," said State's Attorney Anne Colt Leitess. "This defendant is a repeat offender who had just been released from jail a few days prior to this incident. I want to thank our prosecution team and investigators for their work to take this public safety threat off the streets."
The State was represented by the Anne Arundel County State's Attorney's Office on behalf of the citizens of Anne Arundel County. The investigation was led by the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

Collaboration and Partnerships
On October 18, the State's Attorney's Office attended the Second Annual Celebración del Bienestar (Hispanic Wellness Event) for Spanish-speaking families.
The event was a collaboration between Anne Arundel County Public School Wellness and Family Partnerships and Anne Arundel County Mental Health Agency.
The SAO's Juvenile Justice Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Project (JJTCIP) coordinator, Maxine Smith was invited to share about her work within AACPS helping to provide at-risk students with services and resources to keep them in school, out of the justice system, and on a path to success!
