Official Endorsement of the Lakewood City School District Operating Levy — May 5, 2026
The Healthy Lakewood Foundation (HLF) endorses the Lakewood City School District's 6.9-mill operating levy on the May 5 ballot. HLF's Board of Directors affirms that a well-resourced school district is fundamental to a healthy community and that continued investment in our schools is essential.
The District consistently delivers strong results for students, earning four-star ratings on Ohio Report Cards in 2024 and 2025, and demonstrates responsible stewardship of public funds. This levy will provide the stable, predictable operating funding needed to support the teachers, staff, and programs that make Lakewood schools a place where every student can learn, grow, and thrive.
HLF is proud of our investments in school-based programming that date back to our earliest days of grantmaking, including mental health services, health education, and student wellness support. Strong, sustained school funding enables the District to remain adaptive and responsive to the broad, diverse, and evolving needs of Lakewood students. It ensures access to extracurricular opportunities, critical services, and resources that support youth well beyond the classroom.
We do not take endorsements like this lightly. HLF is proud to stand alongside the many Lakewood residents, organizations, and community partners who recognize this levy as an important investment in our community.
