It's been quite the birthday month for Lydia Place!
Before we dive into November, National Homelessness Awareness Month, we'd like to take a moment to pause and reflect on how truly great you all are, and to remind you of the enormous power we yield as a community, when we join hands and start building a better today and tomorrow for current and future generations.

Here's to you, our community, for sharing the hope, laughter, and tears with us all these years!

Adopt a Family Program
November 4th - December 7th
Only 5 more days until our 22nd Annual Adopt a Family Program begins! In partnership with KAFE 104.1FM and YOU, this holiday program delivers presents and hope to Lydia Place families all over Whatcom County. In the meantime, you can warm up your holiday spirit by visiting our Holiday Giving page to view additional ways to spread the joy this season.
Community Cares features individuals and businesses who coordinated a drive and/or donated 100% of proceeds in order to fulfill an immediate Lydia Place need.

Community Cares: Trails to Taps

Thank you to all the volunteers, breweries, supporters, and brave runners who put on their most ridiculous costumes and then ran from brewery to brewery in the freezing rain for beer...AND Lydia Place!

Community Cares: Ragfinery

Thank you to Ragfinery for providing a free of cost up-cycling, mending, and sewing machine 101 class to mothers enrolled in our Campus Housing Program.


Community Cares: Pampers "Love the Change" Campaign

Thank you to Pampers for donating four Koala Kare changing tables as part of their “Love the Change” campaign. Pampers is proud to announce they’re providing 5,000 changing tables for public restrooms across the US and Canada by 2021 so more dads and babies can #LoveTheChange together when they’re out-and-about.


Community Cares: Happy Birthday for Housing at Scotty Browns

Thank you to everyone who came to Scotty Browns on October 24th for a special one-night benefit where 10% of all food sales between 5-10pm benefited Lydia Place programs and services!


Community Cares: Whole Foods Market

Thank you to Bellingham's local Whole Foods Market for choosing Lydia Place as the charitable recipient of their 5% Day Community Giving Program!

Immediate Need: Commercial Space for Adopt a Family Drop-Off

Do you or someone you know have an open commercial rental space in central Bellingham? Looking for a way to give back this holiday season?

Lydia Place’s 22nd Annual Adopt a Family Program is looking for a large, accessible space the first 2-3 weeks of December to receive, sort, and wrap holiday gifts for 250+ children in our housing programs. Your space will be well cared for by our staff and volunteers and will be visited by dozens of Whatcom County businesses and individuals as the central hub where all the holiday magic happens!
