On Friday, December 21, 2018 the Florida Department of Education approved O5C as a new elementary school for the City of Boca Raton, providing up to 1,000 new student seats. The school will be built on land donated by the City of Boca Raton near Don Estridge High Tech Middle School. The School District of Palm Beach County will release a timeline for construction of the new elementary school in early 2019. For more information visit
New City Laws in Effect January 2019
City Council members propose and pass laws (ordinances) to address the needs of our community. In January 2019, there are three new ordinances that affect the quality of life for Boca Raton Residents: Florida Friendly Fertilizer Use, Garage Sale Permitting & Regulations and Direct Issuance of Citations by Code Enforcement officers for certain violations. PGA Tour Returns to Boca Raton as the Oasis Championship
For the 13th year, the City of Boca Raton is proud to sponsor the annual PGA Tour Championship at the Old Course at Broken Sound. Oasis Outsourcing, the newly-named sponsor, will continue bringing world class golf to Boca Raton through the Oasis Championship. The Oasis Championship takes place February 4-10, 2019.

City Celebrates MLK Jr. Day
Take part in a ceremony and celebration honoring the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. at the City's Commemorative Ceremony.

Monday, January 21, 2019
9:30am - 11am: Memorial Service at 200 NE Ruby Street
11am: March from MLK Jr. Memorial to Sanborn Square
11am - 4pm: Celebration with music, activities, rides, slides and vendors in Sanborn Square

FPL Pole Replacement Project
FPL is replacing existing concrete poles and topping existing poles through the Downtown Boca Raton area. The ongoing project affects areas around Palmetto Park Road, Spanish River Boulevard and NE 2nd Avenue between the weekday hours of 9am to 4pm.
