STOP, in the Name of Safety
Drivers, remember to be extra careful in areas where people are looking to cross the street. Pay attention to the road markings that indicate an upcoming crossing, and those flashing lights (RRFBs) that signal a pedestrian wanting to cross. These safety elements alert drivers to slow down or stop, and it's the law.
Help create a safer community for everyone on the streets. Watch the video to see what you should do when driving through the City. (SOUND ON!)

Reaching a Milestone
The City recently approved the first 30-year building recertification under its Building Recertification Inspection Program. Introduced in 2021, the program helps ensure the safety and integrity of buildings in the City that are 30 years old or greater.
Boca Raton was the first city in Palm Beach County to create and adopt a recertification program. The first recertified building completed specific electrical and structural safety checklists and on-site inspections to earn the recertification. Learn more about the program.

Can I put lithium or rechargeable batteries in my curbside garbage pickup?
No! Never dispose of household hazardous products in your curbside City collection. These types of items have caused fires in our sanitation trucks, putting our staff and the community in danger. Lithium and rechargeable batteries are found in cell phones, tablets and more. Be sure to read the label on the battery.
| |
Watch the video to see what could happen. And, view the list of items NEVER to place in your garbage cans, and where you can dispose of them properly.
Be sure to use the Recycle Coach app to better understand what goes where.
