How You Can Help
The City of Boca Raton has deployed several staff members from Fire Rescue Services, Police Services and Utility Services to assist those impacted by Hurricane Ian. Whether through National Guard deployments or as requested by specific cities and communities, public service extends past our City to help those in need.

Residents can help support those impacted by Hurricane Ian by visiting floridadisaster.org for monetary donations or volunteerflorida.org for volunteer opportunities. In the days and weeks to come, be sure to follow the City on social media to learn about additional opportunities to assist with these efforts. | |
Lt. Kyle Graham Named 2021 Firefighter of the Year
Lt. Kyle Graham of the City of Boca Raton Fire Rescue Services Department was named 2021 Firefighter of the Year by the City of Boca Raton Fire Rescue Department for his quick thinking and actions that saved the life of a Captain in the Boca Raton Fire Department.
He was also recognized by the Florida State Firefighters Association for is courageous actions and will be honored at the Fire Service Award Ceremony held at the state capitol.

Celebrate Mobility Week October 21-28
Mobility Week is a cooperative effort by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and its partner agencies to promote awareness of safe, multimodal transportation choices. During Mobility Week, counties, cities and transportation agencies host events and offer special promotions to encourage Floridians to try new transportation options.

Beautification Along
NW 1st Avenue Underway
Adjacent to the Brightline construction, a beautification project is underway along NW 1st Ave - including new sidewalks, street lighting, benches, bike racks, landscaping, and more. NW 1st Ave is closed until work is completed by end of the year.

Do the Time Warp Again at the Rocky Horror Picture Show Experience
Experience the Rocky Horror Picture Show like never before at the Mizner Park Cultural Center on October 28 with two showtimes: 7pm & 9:30pm.

Take Your Palette on a Journey at the Taste the World Family Food Truck Event
Have a favorite ethnic food or want to try something new? Take the family to enjoy a variety of food trucks featuring cuisine from around the world at the Spanish River Library (1501 NW Spanish River Blvd)on Oct. 14, 4pm - 8pm.
Current food trucks include: Cucina Bambina, Da Big Jerk, Inspir-Asian, Monarca Mexican, Taste of Africa, The Kebab Stop, and HipPOPs.

City Participating in 'Unlock the Wave' Candy Wrapper Recycling Program
Did you know that in the typical Halloween season Americans purchase more than 300,000 tons of candy? The City is participating in the Loggerhead Marine Life Center's Unwrap the Wave program.

Starting in mid-October and through the first week of November, bring your clean candy wrappers to either Gumbo Limbo Nature Center or Sugar Sand Park Community Center and put them in the designated collection bins. After the campaign, the wrappers will be sent to be recycled. | |
