50th Annual Holiday Street Parade
Boca Raton's 50th Annual Holiday Street Parade returns this year on Wednesday, December 8 from 7:30 - 9pm. This year's theme is "What Are You Streaming?" and will feature more than 50 festive floats and groups.

It's Time to Get Merry in Mizner
NEW this year... on December 3, 4, 10 and 11 from 6pm - 10pm each night, the City will host Merry in Mizner, festive nights with surprise pop-up entertainment under the holiday lights. Entertainment includes an interactive Santa's letter booth, photo ops, snow flurries, holiday musicians, carolers, stilt walkers and more! Learn more on the Merry in Mizner webpage.

47th Annual Holiday Boat Parade
Light up the waterways with the 47th Annual Holiday Boat Parade on Saturday, December 18 from 6:30 - 8:30pm. The parade begins at the C-15 Canal and travels south with bleacher viewing available at Red Reef Park. For more details visit the Holiday Boat Parade webpage.

8th Annual Boca Raton Bowl Returns to ESPN on December 18
Boca Raton's premier college football game, the RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl, returns to FAU Stadium on Saturday, December 18 at 11am. The game will be televised on ESPN, carried nationally on ESPN Radio, and locally on ESPN 106.3. For additional details and tickets, visit the Boca Raton Bowl website.

Additional Coronavirus Relief Funds Available for City Residents
The City received additional Community Development Block Grant coronavirus (CDBG-CV) funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for City homeowners and renters who have experienced a financial hardship due to COVID-19.
Applications are still being accepted and will be processed on a first come, first qualified, first served basis. Visit the Rental and Foreclosures Programs webpage for guidelines, qualifications, and to apply.

I-95 Express Lanes Project Update
The Florida Department of Transportation's 95 Express Phase 3B-1 project (south of SW 10th Street to south of Glades Road) was completed on October 29, 2021.
Work on Phase 3B-2 from Glades Road to Linton Boulevard -- including a Glades Road's Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) -- continues. Learn more on the City's website.

City Council to Select Artist(s) for Recycled Material Art Project
Tune in to the City Council Workshop on December 13 for the presentation and selection of artist(s) for the Recycled Material Art Project made from discarded materials that will be located in the grassy area adjacent to A1A near the South Beach Park Pavilion.
The project aims to raise awareness of plastic pollution in our waterways and encourage conservation in our community and will be completed by March 1, 2022. Learn more on the Project's webpage.

Recent Park Openings & Updates
Wildflower/Silver Palm Park - Construction continues at the Wildflower/Silver Palm Park site (551 and 600 E Palmetto Park Road), part of the City's Waterfront Master Plan.
Construction of the seawall on the Wildflower site is underway. At Silver Palm, renovation activities include demolition of the existing restroom, construction of the new restroom facility, and construction of new underground utilities. Follow updates on the City's website.

Hughes Park - Hughes Park (200 NE 14th St) is open after undergoing a complete renovation of the playground area. The park now features new playground equipment, new surfacing, added shade, and an improved ADA entrance to the restroom building.

Pine Breeze Park - Pine Breeze Park (1100 SW 20th St) has reopened with two new pavilions, a new walking path, new fitness equipment and benches, a rebuilt basketball court, new stormwater drainage system, repaired sidewalks and some updated playground equipment.
|
|
Spanish River Park - At Spanish River Park (3001 N. State Road A-1-A), restroom Building #4 will be reopening soon after completing an interior renovation to bring it up to current ADA standards. Restroom #3 is having interior tile installed and is being painted.

- The James A. Rutherford Community Center at Patch Reef Park has closed and moved operations to the Boca Raton Swim Center (21618 St. Andrews Blvd). The Swim Center now sells permits, registrations for classes, and all rentals including pavilions.

Make Your Christmas Tree the Gift that Keeps on Giving
Residents can drop off CLEAN holiday trees at Spanish River Athletic Park / Countess de Hoernle Park (1000 Spanish River Blvd.), from December 26, 2021 - January 16, 2022 to help beautify Gumbo Limbo Nature Center with new mulch.
The drop-off area is located at the southern end of the parking lot next to the maintenance area. Visit the Holiday Tree Recycling Webpage or call 561-393-7810 for more information. Make sure to remove all decorations including lights and tinsel from the tree.
