Celebrate the Life & Legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Monday, Jan. 20 | 8:00am - 3:00pm

Join the City in commemorating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The ceremony and event are free and open to the public.


  • Community Breakfast: 8am - 10am, Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church
  • Unity March: 10am, MLK Jr. Monument to Mizner Park Amphitheater
  • Ceremony: 10:30am, Mizner Park Amphitheater
  • FREE Unity Celebration: 11:30am - 3:00pm, Mizner Park Amphitheater

Boca Street Fest

Saturday, Jan. 25 | 12:00 - 4:00pm

The Centennial celebrations will kick off with the launch of the City's inaugural Boca Street Fest! This vibrant community event will take over downtown with live music, local food vendors, a beer garden and more. Join us as we start celebrating Boca Raton’s 100th birthday.


Municipal Services is NOW the Public Works & Engineering Department

To better reflect the department’s functions and to align with government industry standards, the City's Municipal Services Department has officially become the Public Works and Engineering Department.


From sanitation and streets to traffic, mobility and stormwater management, the Public Works and Engineering Department will continue delivering the high-quality services you expect. Learn more about their projects and initiatives.

Congratulations to the 2024 Boca Raton Bowl Winner - James Madison University!

In a great match up with Western Kentucky University, James Madison University came out on top with a final score of 27-17. We hope both teams and their fans, family, and friends enjoyed their time in beautiful Boca Raton.

Vision Zero Neighborhood Meetings

Join us at a series of Neighborhood Meetings discussing progress on the City’s Vision Zero Action Plan. These meetings will be an “open house” format, allowing you flexibility to join a meeting at the location and time that is most convenient for your schedule.


Unique to each meeting will be an optional interactive activity that explores a theme from the City’s safety evaluation. This will include either a brief walking tour or bike ride in the area surrounding the meeting location. Additional details will be posted on the Vision Zero webpage.


Tuesday, January 21 | 4:30pm – 6:30pm | Spanish River Library

Explore bicycle and micromobility safety by participating in a brief bike tour on the trails surrounding the library. REMEMBER to bring your own bike and helmet, we’ll assemble in the front plaza near the bike rack, kickstands up at 5:00pm. (Bicycles not provided.)

 

Wednesday, January 22 | 4:30pm– 6:30pm | Downtown Library

Explore pedestrian and transit-oriented safety as we tour streets near the Downtown Library, Brightline station and Boca Raton’s downtown. Please wear comfortable shoes and note that dusk will occur around 6:00pm.

 

Thursday, January 23 | 4:30pm – 6:30pm | Sugar Sand Park, Family Pavilion

Explore suburban safety as we tour roads and a major intersection adjacent to the Park. Please wear comfortable shoes and note that dusk will occur around 6:00pm.

Save the Date: First Responder Expo

Meet your City police, firefighters, and paramedics at the Boca Raton First Responders Expo on Saturday, February 1 from 10am - 2pm at the Town Center Mall Parking lot (corner of Glades Rd. & St. Andrews Blvd.).


Check out live action firefighting, K-9 and motorcycle demonstrations, interactive activities and photo ops for the kids!

CERT Training with Fire Rescue

Would you know what to do if a hurricane, flood, or disaster were to strike? Become better prepared with Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training from our Fire Rescue Services team. The FEMA based course will teach you how to help yourselves and your neighbors in case of an emergency, when Police, Fire or EMS may not be able to respond immediately.


The FREE course is 4 weeks, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm - 9pm. Must be a City resident and at least 16 years old. The next session starts February 4. Learn More and Register.

For City sanitation customers, there will be no sanitation schedule changes for the New Years Day holiday. City offices will be closed and Recreation Services facilities will have amended holiday hours. See details.

  • There will be NO sanitation service on Monday, Jan. 20.

  • Tuesday, Jan. 21 service will be on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

Give your Christmas tree a second chance

Recycle Your Christmas Tree

The City's Christmas tree recycling program is running NOW through Jan. 19.


Residents can drop off their “clean” Christmas trees at Countess de Hoernle Park (1000 Spanish River Blvd, southern end of the parking lot next to the maintenance area). Recreation Services will pick up the trees and chip them into mulch to be used at the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center. View drop-off times and other details.

Did you know? The City has been a Tree City USA for 45 consecutive years. The City also received a Growth Award in 2024 which recognizes our commitment to protecting and enhancing tree canopy, with contributing factors like our ongoing partnership with Community Greening on residential tree giveaways and our ecological restoration work in the beachfront parks with the Institute for Regional Conservation.

NEW Public Art Mural at Sugar Sand Park

Stunning mosaic glass tiles create a vibrant scene of South Florida’s natural beauty and wildlife in the City’s latest permanent public art project - Boca Raton Composition 1.


Launched by the City’s Public Art Boca program, and with funding from the Boca Raton Greater Beach and Park District, the new art installation is 31 feet wide by 11 feet tall, by renowned naturalist artist James Prosek and award-winning tile company Artaic.
