REMINDER from Lake Worth Drainage District
With the frequent summer thunderstorms and the peak of hurricane season in September, it's more important than ever to maintain unobstructed waterways. Lake Worth Drainage District (LWDD) has a few important reminders:
- Before beginning any construction project bordering a canal, be sure to confirm your property boundary and LWDD right-of-way.
- Plan ahead with any vegetation planting and hardscaping. Any objects within LWDD's right-of-way will need to be removed.
- Dumping/disposing of vegetative debris or other trash in the canals or along the rights-of-way is illegal, and is punishable by fines and potential jail time.
