Funding Granted for Vision Zero

On February 1, 2023, the City was awarded a grant of $300,000 in federal funding from the US Department of Transportation to support the City’s Vision Zero Action Plan using the Safe System Approach.

The new $800 million Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant Program is a part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) which will provide $5 billion over five years for regional, local, and Tribal initiatives to prevent deaths and serious injuries on the nation’s roadways.

The City will use the award to develop a comprehensive safety action plan with the goal of eliminating fatalities and reduce serious injuries due to traffic accidents.

Boca eHub Now LIVE

The City recently launched a new web-based software - Boca eHub - that makes applying for City services, permitting, and bill paying more efficient, accessible, and responsive.

Mail & Package Theft Prevention

Based on trends our Boca Raton Police Services Department has seen locally, their Economic Crime Unit suggests these simple tips to help prevent crime that occurs through the mail system:

  • Drop off mail with checks or cash directly at the post office.
  • Drop off mail close to the pick-up time.
  • Inquire about overdue mail.
  • Avoid sending cash in the mail.

For more information, see Boca Raton Police Services post.

Boca Raton South Beach Nourishment Project to Begin

The South Boca Raton Nourishment Project will begin the week of March 6, 2023. The project involves the excavation of sand from the ebb shoal immediately offshore of the Boca Raton inlet. The excavated sand is placed simultaneously on the beaches south of the inlet.

This project serves to restore and maintain the beaches south of the Boca Raton Inlet, maintain safe navigation through the inlet, and offsets the long-term beach erosion in this area. Learn more about the project and timeline of work.
