Call for Artists & Poets for New Ode to Boca Mural

Coming this fall, the Mizner Park Amphitheater stage doors are getting a fresh new look! Through its Public Art Boca program, the City is seeking qualified muralists to create a Centennial themed mural on the stage doors inspired by community submitted Ode to Boca poems to celebrate our community identity.

ARTISTS: Learn more about the Call for Artist guideline and submit your application by Monday, July 21, 2025.

COMMUNITY MEMBERS: Submit your Ode to Boca today, it could be used as inspiration for the mural, or for a future public art project.

Government Campus Update

At the June 10 City Council meeting, Council directed staff to move toward achieving a Master Partnership Agreement to transform the downtown government campus with partners Terra & Frisbie Group which includes a new City Hall, Community Center, Police Substation, plus retail, dining, residential, office, and hotel space—designed to better serve our community. This early, non-binding step allows continued refinement with community input.

Business Owners: Time to Renew Your Business Tax Receipt

The 2025–2026 Business Tax Receipt renewal period is now open. Look for an email from the City with your personalized renewal details. You can renew quickly and easily online through the Boca eHUB platform.

Steps to Renew:

Check your inbox for the renewal email
Follow link to Boca eHUB to login and renew
Review your invoice(s) and pay online
Print your BTR/Certificate of Use (24 hours after payment)

Know Your Drinking Water

Our Utility Services Department recently released the 2024 Drinking Water Quality Report (posted annually by July 1), offering a detailed summary of water quality testing required by multiple government agencies. Boca Raton upholds the highest standards of water quality, safety, and innovation, ensuring reliable, clean drinking water for our community.

Flooding During Hurricanes or Storms

Thanks to enhanced floodplain management, the City's improved CRS Classification now qualifies residents for a larger flood insurance discount - rising from 15% to 25% for those with qualifying NFIP policies, effective October 2025. Contact your provider, learn when the savings will apply, and take a moment to review key flood terms:

The City recently celebrated the iconic Buttonwood Tree in Por La Mar Park. Over 100 years old and originally designated in 1992, it was proudly rededicated as a “Historic Tree” during our Centennial year. A symbol of Boca Raton’s natural beauty and heritage, the Buttonwood reflects our commitment to preserving green spaces and 44 proud years as a Tree City USA.

Starting July 11, boaters and fishing enthusiasts at Silver Palm Park can enjoy a convenient new ice machine to help keep your catch fresh and your drinks cold. Located right next to the drink machines, you can purchase 10 lbs. of ice for just $4.50—bag provided or dispense directly into your cooler.

Need fresh water? It's only $1.00 per gallon. Both the ice and water are filtered for your health and convenience.

All ten winners will be announced on August 1, and on top of ultimate bragging rights, their photos will be showcased at the Boca Raton Public Library starting in August.
