School Zone Safety Program
Starting in the 2025 school year, the City is implementing a new School Zone Safety Program. School zone safety cameras will be used to automatically issue $100 civil citations - without points or impact on insurance - to drivers who exceed the school zone speed limit by more than 11 mph+ during arrival and dismissal times when flashing lights are active.
| | | | |
Studies show this approach effectively reduces speeds and enhances student safety. Learn more.
This initiative is authorized under House Bill 657, which aims to enhance school zone safety for children and staff by deterring speeding violations during critical times.

Heads Up Boca! Stay Alert and Stay Safe Around Trains
With multiple rail lines running through our community, it's important to stay aware and cautious around train tracks.
Trains can’t stop quickly, so always follow posted signs and signals, and NEVER try to beat a train at a crossing.
Remember:
- Never walk, bike, or drive around lowered crossing gates.
- Stay off the tracks - walking along or across them is both dangerous and illegal.
- Only cross at designated public crossings.
- Remove headphones and avoid distractions when near train tracks.
- Expect a train on any track, at any time, from either direction.
