Know Your Storm Risks

Start by knowing your zones - they are different! Evacuation zones are areas that may be inundated with storm surge ahead of a storm, while flood zones show long-term flood risk due to drainage, flow, or tides.

Evacuation Zone: Determine if you live in an evacuation zone and make a plan especially if you live on the barrier island or low-lying area. Staying with family or friends outside the evacuation zone is often the best option, and don't forget to plan for your pets.

Flood Zone: Much of Boca Raton is located within a FEMA-designated Special Flood Hazard Area. Find your property's flood zone, and review important safety reminders on flooding and more.

Check Your Insurance Coverage: Understand all of your property and flood insurance coverage before a storm. The City's floodplain management program may qualify eligible properties in high-hazard flood zones for up to a 25% discount on flood insurance premiums.

Visit the
City's Hurricane Information webpage for more storm and hurricane preparations.
