Be a Part of Strategic Planning

As City Council and City staff begin Strategic Planning for 2025 – 2026, residents, business owners, and local stakeholders will be invited to provide their feedback via Public Input Sessions and a Community Survey. Visit our Strategic Plan webpage for more information.

REMINDER - For those residents that received a mailed invitation to participate in the survey – remember to complete your survey online or returned via postage-paid envelope by Dec. 30. Beginning Monday, Dec. 9, the community-wide survey will open to the public. Share your input on city services, quality of life, safety, recreation & more. Update on East Palmetto Park Road

At the Nov. 18, 2024, CRA meeting, Alta Planning & Design shared updates on the East Palmetto Park Road Downtown Multimodal Mobility Study. After extensive community input, key priorities identified for the area were improved traffic flow, sidewalks, safety, parking availability, and more greenery.


To learn more about the options presented and hear further discussion on the topic, view the meeting. Council will revisit the topic in 2025.

Boca Raton Police Services is here to let you know how to stay safe this holiday season. Whether shopping at the mall or online, check out their Holiday Shopping Safety video and Shopping Safety Tips. A few reminders:


  • Only shop with reputable vendors online.
  • Refrain from storing credit card data online or on your phone.
  • Having a package delivered? Schedule a delivery date and time when you will be home.
  • Not going to be home? Have your package delivered to a trusted neighbor or relative.
  • Reduce distractions and avoid using your cell phone while walking in parking lots.
  • Watch your purse and make sure wallets and more are not visible or accessible to others.

Give your Christmas tree a second chance

Recycle Your Christmas Tree

The City's Christmas tree recycling program will run from Dec. 26, 2024 through Jan. 19, 2025.


Residents can drop off their “clean” Christmas trees at Countess de Hoernle Park (1000 Spanish River Blvd, southern end of the parking lot next to the maintenance area). Recreation Services will pick up the trees and chip them into mulch to be used at the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center. View drop-off times and other details.

Resident Sea Turtle Adoptions

Make this holiday season special by symbolically adopting one of our resident sea turtles. Your adoption package includes a personalized certificate, details about your adopted turtle, a magnet, a postcard, and a thank you card from our conservation team. The program supports Gumbo Limbo Nature Center’s Sea Turtle Conservation Program.

Rare Bird Sighting

A rare bird, the bananaquit (Coereba flaveola), was spotted at Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, exciting staff, volunteers, and local birders. Found throughout the tropical Americas, these nonmigratory birds may be spotted in the Bahamas, Jamaica, and very rarely in South Florida. Visit Gumbo Limbo Nature Center this year and enjoy unique wildlife experiences.
