South beaches renourishment project

South Boca Raton Beach Renourishment Update

The dredge vessel has excavated enough sand to fill areas from the South Inlet Park to the Placide condominium. The sand placement within the City limits is anticipated to be completed by April 7. Daily turtle monitoring is ongoing, and no nests have been found within the project limits.

The dredge vessel will remain at the Boca Raton Inlet where sand will be excavated and placed south of the City limits on Deerfield Beach and the Town of Hillsboro. Pipes laying on the sand will remain in place until the sand placement is completed in Broward County.
