Acceso, the Denver Clerk & Recorder’s Spanish-language advisory board, affirms its support for immigrant and Spanish-speaking communities amid recent immigration raids that have created fear and discouraged civic participation. For the first time, Denver residents can access campaign finance, lobbying, and ethics data in Spanish! This is a significant step toward improving transparency and expanding access to election and ethics information across the city’s diverse communities. Effective July 1, 2025, document recording fees have changed to $43 per document under a new Colorado state law. Releases of deeds of trust now carry a flat fee of $73 per document for public trustee execution and recording. Click below to watch a quick video explaining the changes.

We’re proud to recognize Denise Barraza, one of our dedicated Deputy Public Trustees, as our June GOAT Award recipient! Denise has been with the City & County of Denver for five years, including three with the Denver Clerk & Recorder. In her role, she helps facilitate foreclosures for the City, guiding Denverites through the process and providing support and resources every step of the way. She says that for her, it’s all about helping people, and it shows in everything she does. 

The Denver Clerk and Recorder’s GOAT Award is our version of an Employee of the Month recognition, honoring team members who consistently demonstrate exceptional performance, reliability, dedication to public service and a strong work ethic.
