Dear Denver,
First and foremost, thank you for voting. I am proud to share that, as of 11 a.m. today, election results have been successfully audited and certified by our bipartisan board, marking the conclusion of the historic 2024 General Election.
| |
I also want to extend my gratitude to all those who played a role in running a successful election. From our 1,200+ election judges at vote centers across the city and at our Denver Elections Building, who processed and counted 1,104,293 ballot cards, to our dedicated Denver Elections staff who planned and prepared behind the scenes, everyone contributed to administering yet another accessible, fair, and secure election. A special thank you goes to our veteran election judges who worked on Veterans Day to continue the ballot count. It is an honor to work alongside those who continue to serve their country and fight for democracy, even in retirement.

Beyond elections, our Recording and Public Trustee Division has been hard at work. We are excited to announce the upcoming launch of a new, easy-to-use online eRecording portal. This new eSubmission and eRecording functionality will provide a simple, efficient, and innovative way for title companies and government agencies to directly submit electronic recordings to Denver County. It will streamline the process, reduce paper submissions, and help our team serve these filers more quickly and effectively.
The holiday season is a time for reflection, and our team is doing just that as we look ahead to the new year. As we step into 2025, one thing remains true: our vision and commitment to building a Denver where everyone can fully participate in the democratic process and civic life, marry whomever they love, easily record and access county and municipal records, and rely on transparent and fair foreclosure processes.
In Solidarity,

Hon. Paul D. López

2024 General Election Results Certified | Clerk Paul López has officially certified Denver’s 2024 General Election. You can view the certified results by clicking the button below.
2024 General Election by the Numbers | Of 480,221 registered active voters, 369,452 (76.93 percent) of Denver voters cast a ballot. This represents a 10 percent drop from the 2020 general election. A total of 161,727 ballots were received on Monday, 11/4, and Election Day, 11/5, accounting for 43.7 percent of the total votes cast. While the majority of ballots were received beforehand, there's still much work to be done to increase early voting.
A total of 334,615 mail-in ballots were cast, while 34,793 ballots were cast in person, with 20,671 of those cast on Election Day alone. This marked a significant change, as typically only 1-3 percent of people vote in person. This year, in-person voting nearly doubled the usual norm, creating unnecessary lines at some vote centers.
Additionally, 1,184 statewide ballots were accepted, 44 provisional ballots were cast, and 4,000 UOCAVA (overseas) ballots were cast and accepted.
Finally, the largest participation by age group was from those aged 25-34. However, voter turnout per ballots issued remains highest among voters aged 65 and older.

Post Election - Risk Limiting Audit (RLA) |
Our Denver Elections Division held the post-election RLA on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. Our team audited 280 ballot cards and passed the first round of the audit. This post-election audit is used to verify that equipment and procedures used to count votes worked properly and that the election yielded the correct outcomes.
The audit is conducted by surveying a subset of the overall ballots cast in the General Election, while also providing statistical confidence that the results in the election are accurate. The subset of ballots is selected at random by the Secretary of State’s Office. If the margin of an election is wide, very few ballots must be reviewed. If the margin is narrow, more ballots are reviewed to ensure evidence is provided to confirm the declared result.
