Dear Denver,

To celebrate the month of love, this Valentine’s Day, we are holding our 13th annual marriage marathon. This year, the theme is "All You Need is Love,” paying homage to the love revolution of the 1960s. I’m dressing up (kinda) like my namesake, the iconic Paul McCartney, in honor of my late mother who named me after him and marrying couples who participate in our marathon. The best part is… you don’t need an appointment!

Every year, Denver lovebirds flock to our office to get their marriage certificates. It’s important that all couples looking to marry know and follow the appropriate steps to make the process as easy as possible. Don’t worry, we’ve broken it down into three simple steps:

  1. Fill out the online marriage certificate application before making an appointment with our office. You can fill it out [HERE]
  2. Once your application is complete, make an appointment with our office to finalize the process in person.
  3. Finally, make sure to bring all required identification documents. You can see the full list of what you’ll need [HERE]

It’s simple! Remember, if you want to get married without the hassle of making an appointment, come to our marriage marathon from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Valentine’s Day, Friday, Feb. 14, at the Wellington E. Webb Municipal Building located at 201 W. Colfax Ave.

See you there, Denver!

Hon. Paul D. López

Denver Clerk and Recorder

Happy Black History Month, Denver!

Every February, we are honored to take a moment to recognize the valuable contributions, resilience, leadership and impact of Black leaders, activists, and trailblazers who've contributed to building a better, stronger and more diverse Denver.
