Happy March, Denver!
Last month, our team married 73 lovely couples as part of our 13th annual Valentine’s Day Marriage Marathon! It was a huge success, and I’d like to thank everyone who helped make this important event magical for each lovebird who entrusted us to be part of their ceremony. From our recording, engagement, and communications teams to our celebrity officiants, like Michelle Griego and Denver Judge David Blackett, putting on this event is truly a labor of love and a staple in our office’s commitment to serving our constituents.

This month, our team is observing and commemorating several important dates in March. First and foremost, we love to uplift and honor all the women who have served and those who continue to shape our Denver Office of the Clerk & Recorder, making it what it is today, as we celebrate National Women’s History Month! March also commemorates the 56th anniversary of the 1969 West High School Blowouts that led to the first National Chicano Youth Liberation Conference being held here in Denver. To honor these pivotal events in Chicano history, we’re highlighting a proclamation near and dear to my heart. You can watch the highlight here.
Lastly, as we do every year, we will be celebrating Cesar Chavez Day out with the community. Our team and I will be participating in the César Chávez March & Celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 5 at Regis University. We hope you can come out and celebrate with us.
See you there, Denver!

'Bloody Sunday' 60th Anniversary |
As the great Congressman John Lewis once said, “The right to vote is precious, almost sacred. It is the most powerful nonviolent tool or instrument in a democratic society. We must use it.”
60 years ago, this month in Selma, Alabama— Black American activists protested to show their desire to participate in the democratic process of voting. They were met with police attacks for their march toward justice. Today, our office is proud to have one of the most secure, transparent, and accessible voting models in the nation, available to every eligible U.S. citizen 18+.

A Phoenix couple was recently accused of impersonating homeowners and selling a house they were squatting in. Unfortunately, this type of property fraud is common and is the reason our office proudly offers FraudSleuth™, a property alert monitoring service. This service allows property owners to proactively combat fraud and track property recording activities.
Property owners who set up a profile online can receive alerts if a document is recorded against the information in their profile. Sign up below, today!
