Last week longtime Globeville resident Severa Casillas Santos cut the ribbon on Denver’s 45th ballot drop-off box. This is the first time Casillas Santos, and her neighbors, have had access to a 24-hour ballot drop-off box in Globeville where she has lived for more than 30 years. Stories like this are the reason why increasing access to secure ballot drop boxes across Denver remains a top priority in my administration. Now all you have to do is simply vote. It’s easy. 

It’s a long one, Denver! Take a look at the sample ballot for the 2024 General Election. This is your chance to get familiar with the ballot so you can be ready to fill out your ballot soon after you receive it. Ballots will be mailed out on October 11. Remember, Denver votes early! 

Denver Clerk and Recorder Paul López has certified the municipal and local jurisdictional ballot measures for the November 5, 2024, General Election.

There are nine municipal ballot measures and three political subdivision measures on this year’s ballot.

We are accepting public comments for the tax-related ballot measures that will be on Denver’s November ballot. The deadline to submit a comment on the tax-related ballot measures is September 20 at 11:59 p.m.

Earlier this month, our Clerk López unveiled our latest ballot drop-off box! This marks our 45th ballot drop box across the City and County of Denver, and the FIRST drop box in the Globeville neighborhood. Elevating accessibility to the election process for our underserved communities is vital in defending our democracy. All 24-hour ballot drop boxes open Friday, October 11.

We are about a month and a half away from Election Day, and our team's preparations are well underway! Earlier this month, our team held a ballot opening and processing training for our election judges in preparation for the big day!

Recently, our team joined with agencies across the city for a tabletop exercise, where we practiced scenarios which could occur during the election. We worked through the responses and identified loopholes to ensure we will be ready for the unexpected!

Preparedness is key in being ready for the upcoming election. Special thanks to our partners City and County of Denver Government and Denver Office of Emergency Management for partnering with us on these efforts.

The Recording team has completed the successful assembly, packing, and move of more than 1400 boxes of historical records, including items such as contracts, charters, City Council bills and agenda, marriage applications, and dozens of other types of documents.

The Recording team also recently completed the indexing of approximately 2 million existing City and County of Denver records between the years of 1935 and 1986.

These records, previously classified as “historical,” have been reclassified and are now available to the public in different categories.

Clerk Paul López was invited to speak with Windsor Gardens residents on the upcoming Presidential Election in November.

Clerk López highlighted the importance of voting early this fall, and motivating others to do the same. He also continues to motivate Denver residents to get involved in the process and civically engage to get out the vote.

Our engagement team will be registering people to vote and handing out important election information. Come say hi and get some fun swag too!

This past month, our engagement team was out and about in the City and County of Denver, helping people register to vote, handing out important election information, and reminding everyone to VOTE EARLY in the upcoming election.

Our team spoke with voters at a community event in Villa Park before their neighborhood movie night. They also helped register voters at Pirates Day of Legends in Park Hill. Additionally, we were present at the Annunciation Parish Festival.
