When I first came to Delaware, it was important to me to tell the “M&T story” to our policymakers. I wanted to share who we are, what we do, and most importantly, what we care about as a company.

This outreach, along with the Delaware Bankers Association and leaders from our local banking community, provides our decisionmakers a more dynamic understanding on how much we care about the community around us, and this serves as the base of the relationships we’ve built since then. Read more >

In October 2019, Desa Burton joined Zip Code Wilmington—one of the top-ranked coding boot camps in the country— as the nonprofit's executive director. Zip Code Wilmington trains adults to become entry-level software developers or data engineers in just 12 weeks through its immersive, full-time program. In this role, she is helping adult learners not only double or triple their salaries, but also secure their family's future and lift up the communities around them. Register >

President's Message
The end of the first Session of the 152nd General Assembly adjourned this past Friday. Several bills that were priorities of the State Chamber and the business community at-large were enacted. View Tyler Micik's recap here >

The last day of Session also marked the end of Speaker Pete Schwarzkopf’s tenure as Speaker of the House. The day also marked a milestone in Delaware history as Representative Valerie Longhurst assumed the role as Speaker. Val is now joined by Representative Melissa Minor-Brown as she moves up to House Majority Leader, and Representative Kerri Evelyn Harris who takes on the role of Majority Whip. Read more >
