Advocacy Day - 3.19.25

More than sixty advocates teamed up in Columbus to champion a $2 million statewide investment in Ohio 211 - a lifeline that connected more than 786,000 Ohioans last year to health, housing and economic resources.

There were powerful conversations with over 70 legislators in the Ohio House and Senate, and we are thrilled that several voiced their support for 211 and the critical role it plays in their districts.

Joel Potts, Chief Government and External Affairs Officer at the Ohio Department of Children and Youth, spoke about DCY's priorities and how 211 helps the families that they serve.

We are engaging legislators to help them understand the critical role that 211 plays throughout the state and what is at stake. Below are more pictures of the event.an a couple

Responds to 211 LA with Southern California Wildfires

One doesn't have to look far to see the transformative power of a 211 Network. As devastating wildfires tore through Southern California, Los Angeles’ 211 team turned to United Way of Greater Cincinnati for help. Because they had the same 211 software platform as LA they were able to assist with calls for help and were contracted by Los Angeles. Through a partnership with Airbnb, hundreds of displaced families were connected to critical resources like temporary housing.

Greater Cincinnati's 211 helped neighbors access shelter, food and essential services during the recent winter storm.

211 ensures families in crisis get the help they need when it matters most.
