Dear Ohio-ACC Colleague,

As we move into fall, the Ohio Chapter will embark upon a strategic planning initiative -- and we would like your opinion and input. Please take 5 minutes to complete this important member survey (no later than September 7), so that we can have your valuable viewpoint considered. Your active participation in completing the survey is critical as we set goals for the next three years and shape the future of the Ohio-ACC. Take the survey here . Thank you in advance for your participation.

CMS Proposes New Direction For Medicare Shared Savings Program
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a proposed rule ( PDF ) that would set a new direction for the Medicare Shared Savings Program. The proposed rule would redesign available participation options to encourage Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) to transition to two-sided models that include both shared savings and shared risk, beginning with agreement periods starting on July 1, 2019 , and in subsequent years. ACOs with a participation agreement ending Dec. 31, 2018, would have an opportunity to extend their current agreement period for an additional six-month performance year and could apply for a new agreement beginning July 1, 2019 . CMS would resume the usual annual application cycle for the performance year starting on Jan. 1, 2020 , and subsequent years. ACC Advocacy leaders and staff are reviewing the proposed rule and will submit formal comments as part of the 60-day comment period ending Oct. 16. Read more on ACC.org.
