Ohio Board of Pharmacy Issues Updated Consumer and Retailer Guidance on Kratom Products

On May 19, 2026, OAC 4729:9-1-01.1 will go into effect. This rule bans all synthetic forms of kratom, including forms that are not in compliance with Ohio’s food safety laws as regulated by the Ohio Department of Agriculture. For more information, the Board issued updated consumer and retailer guidance, which can be accessed here: www.pharmacy.ohio.gov/KratomNotice
