HOUSE COMMITTEE SENDS CONSUMER AND BUSINESS PROTECTION BILL TO THE FULL HOUSE
The Ohio House reintroduced a bill from last session (HB 625), now HB 242, that protects consumers and businesses by prohibiting local governments from imposing a tax, fee or ban on disposable plastic bags and other containers. The Ohio House took the first step in enacting HB 242 by reporting the bill out of the State and Local Government Committee last week.

CURRENT OHIO ELECTORAL DISTRICTS TO REMAIN UNTIL 2022
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 in Rucho v. Common Cause , the North Carolina and Maryland gerrymandering case, that the courts cannot interfere with states' electoral districting processes. This means the current congressional and state-level maps in Ohio will remain the same until redistricting in 2022, after the 2020 census.
