OHIO HOUSE COMMITTEE HEARS TESTIMONY ON LOWERING STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS FOR CONTRACTS
The House Civil Justice Committee held its second hearing on House Bill 251 last week, legislation that would reduce the statute of limitations on contracts from eight to three years. HB 251 is supported by the Ohio Chamber of Commerce because its passage would mean an improved business climate.

PRIORITY WORKFORCE BILL PASSES HOUSE
House Bill 2 passed out of the Ohio House by a vote of 92-3 this past week. HB 2 would create the TechCred program, which is designed to assist employers in "upskilling" their existing workforce as well as attracting prospective employees.

SENATE BUDGET CHANGES INCLUDE WELCOME PARING BACK OF TAX INCREASE ON BUSINESS OWNERS
Last week, the Senate released its version of HB 166, including changes to the Business Investment Income Deduction (BIID). Alongside the BIID and other tax-related changes, the Senate included many other changes.
