SALES TAX PARITY - BAD DEBT REFUND FOR CREDIT CARD ISSUERS
Under current law, a bad debt deduction is available if a vendor makes a sale on credit, collects the sales tax due and then suffers a default by the purchaser.

OHIO CHAMBER SUPPORTS COMMON-SENSE APPROACH TO CAMPGROUND LIABILITY
Last week, the Ohio Chamber of Commerce submitted a letter in support of House Bill 355. We recommended favorable passage of the bill which would provide campground owners with civil immunity for certain risks inherent with camping.

THE OHIO CHAMBER SUPPORTS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TOOLS TO BUILD TRANSFORMATIONAL PROJECTS
The Ohio Chamber of Commerce submitted a letter of support to the Ohio House Economic and Workforce Development Committee for Senate Bill 39. SB 39 provides an economic development incentive to encourage insurance companies to provide capital for the construction or development of certain building projects known as “transformational mixed-use developments.”

CHAMBER-SUPPORTED WORKFORCE BILL PASSES OHIO SENATE
On Wednesday, November 6, Senate Bill 181 passed out of the Ohio Senate unanimously. SB 181 creates a template workforce-education partnership program.

WIND PROJECT REFERENDUM BILLS INTRODUCED
Last week, legislation to allow local residents to potentially block proposed wind developments was introduced through SB 234 and HB 401. The bills would permit a local referendum on wind energy projects after they've received certification or even after construction has begun.
