Twelve Disability Organizations Join Forces to Form the Supported Decision-Making Network of Ohio

The Supported Decision-Making Network of Ohio is a team of self-advocates, families, and professionals across Ohio raising awareness of supported decision-making options and alternatives to guardianship. They meet monthly to discuss updates, achievements, and challenges while collaborating on action steps. 


The Network envisions a world where people with disabilities are able to have control over their decisions and choose their own support network.

Hispanic Families and Autism: Learning through Play and Education

Through the Ohio DD Council discretionary fund, Casa Speech in Columbus Ohio received a grant to provide special assistance to Hispanic parents and their children with Autism. The grant was used to develop a six-week summer social group for children ages three to seven, providing them a chance to interact with other Spanish-speaking or bilingual children.


Through the summer, three groups have been offered each week with specific themes.

Employer Resources for Accessible, Inclusive and Successful Job Onboarding

It’s never too early to ensure your organization’s onboarding processes are accessible and inclusive for employees with disabilities.


The Employer Assistance and Resource Network on Disability Inclusion (EARN) provides an accessible onboarding tool, which gives employers a list of best practices that include things they can do before the employee starts the job, transportation and work options, what to expect on the first day of the job, and more.

Autism Society of Central Ohio Offering Tons of Summer Fun!

The Autism Society of Central Ohio (ASCO) is offering sensory tents this summer at a variety of events including:



  • Ohio State Fair: August 2, Columbus, Ohio
  • Dublin Irish Festival: August 4-6, Dublin, Ohio
  • Tomato Festival: August 11, Reynoldsburg, Ohio


The tents will offer a calming space with sensory activities and equipment for anyone who needs it.
