Education and Training Career Field Content Standards Revision is Underway
The Education and Training Pathway Public Comment Survey is now open! Please be sure to contribute to this valuable work and consider being a part of the revision process! This survey will help to identify which standards need to be revised or removed. This survey will be open from March 1st through May 30th.
Once the survey closes, industry and teacher panels will be convened in Spring of 2025, with a Standards Draft ready in Fall of 2025. After the draft is complete, course development can begin and CTAG creations and WebXam Item writing will follow. Draft courses are expected to be ready for the 2027-2028 school year in late Winter of 2026.

OATFACS Summer Conference
You are invited to attend the 2025 OATFACS Summer Conference July 27-29, 2025 in Lewis Center, Ohio! The OATFACS Summer Conference provides professional development opportunities designed specifically for Family and Consumer Sciences, Hospitality and Tourism, and Education and Training teachers looking to excel in the classroom, boost their CTSO, and strengthen the field of Family and Consumer Sciences. Attendees will receive up-to-date professional development training, share ideas, and network with other CTE teachers from across the state.

Teaching Financial Literacy Conference
Registration is now open for the 2025 Ohio Teaching Financial Literacy Conference in Akron, Ohio. The conference will occur July 14-15 and is open to educators of all content areas. The conference will feature over 30 breakout sessions, powerful keynote speakers, state and national exhibitors, and networking opportunities.
Full and partial scholarships, along with a $300 honorarium, are available for qualified full-time Ohio educators. The deadline for scholarship and honorarium considerations is May 1. Educators can learn more and complete registration by visiting the H.K. Barker Center for Economic Education’s website.

NLC Dress Code
To attend any general sessions, workshops, or the EXPO at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference, all registered student members must comply with the Mandatory FCCLA Dress Code, which requires wearing an official red blazer. The blazer must be purchased from FCCLA's approved vendor. To ensure timely delivery before NLC, all blazer orders must be placed by June 7, 2025. NEW for 2025 FCCLA National Leadership Conference
Each state association has been designated a specific STAR Event to manage at the 2025 National Leadership Conference. Ohio has been assigned Sports Nutrition. Ohio FCCLA must submit 12 Adult Room Consultants for Sports Nutrition at the National Leadership Conference. The Ohio FCCLA State Association is also responsible for one evaluator for every three registered NLC competitors (STAR Events, Challenge Tests, Knowledge Bowl, and Skill Demonstration Events). If you are interested in assisting with Sports Nutrition, please contact Christie Jackson.

National Leadership Conference (NLC)
Congratulations to the Ohio FCCLA members who will be representing the state association at the National Leadership Conference! The top two entries in each level in each event, meeting the score requirement of 80 or above, will advance to the National Leadership Conference. The top three recipients in Baking and Pastry, Culinary Arts, Job Interview, Leadership, Sustainability Challenge, and Teach or Train in each level who meet the qualification score of 80 will advance to the National Leadership Conference.
Any chapters attending the National Leadership Conference will register directly through the national FCCLA Portal. Please direct any registration questions to the FCCLA national office.

**New** Pilot Launch: Test Readiness Resources for FCCLA Challenge Tests
National FCCLA is pleased to announce the pilot launch of the new Test Readiness Resources, developed in collaboration with G-W Publisher, to support student success on the FCCLA Challenge Tests. These resources are designed to help chapter advisers and their students prepare for five of the most in-demand Challenge Tests at the 2025 National Leadership Conference (NLC) in Orlando.
The following Challenge Tests are included in the pilot:
- Apparel: Fashion Design & Construction Challenge
- Child Development: Early Stages Through Adolescence Challenge
- Hospitality Services Challenge
- Housing and Interior Design Challenge
- Nutrition & Wellness for Life Challenge
These tools are designed to enhance students’ academic knowledge and career-readiness skills across Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) and related Career Clusters. As part of this pilot, FCCLA will gather feedback from participating advisers and students to refine and strengthen the resources before their official launch during the 2025–2026 affiliation year.

Help FCCLA Spotlight Members and Chapters at NLC!
National FCCLA is looking to shine a spotlight on members and chapters during the National Leadership Conference, and we need your help spreading the word! As we count down to the Opening Session, FCCLA will be showcasing how members and chapters across the nation are Daring to Dream and actively chasing their goals. From competition prep and community service to leadership development and career exploration, we want to highlight how students are putting their dreams in motion. Encourage your members and chapters to submit their best photos and short videos for a chance to be featured on the big screen!
- The application outlines five topics the photos or videos should focus on.
- Photos must be in JPEG or PNG format.
- Videos should be 15 seconds or less, filmed horizontally, and feature one person speaking. Please submit videos as MP4 files only.

Real ID Required for Air Travel
Flying to NLC? Starting May 7, 2025, all travelers 18+ must have a Real ID, passport, or TSA-approved ID to board a domestic flight. Look for a star on your license. Students under 18 don’t need ID if traveling with an adult who has one. Check now to avoid travel issues!
