Ohio Grown: Student Chef Showcase
The Office of Nutrition is seeking student-led culinary teams to develop original recipes featuring Harvest of the Month ingredients that can be replicated in school kitchens across the state. Recipes will be evaluated with the top five scoring culinary teams invited to participate in a live cooking competition to determine the winner. Teams invited to the cooking competition will receive a private lesson with Farm to School Chef and Culinary Instructor Jim Warner and a reimbursement stipend of up to $500 to perfect their dish and cover travel expenses to the competition. The competition is open to students in grades sixth through twelfth that attend schools participating in the National School Lunch Program. Hospitality and Tourism Professional Development
Featuring Brittany Saxon, the Owner of Six Hundred Downtown in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Brittany is a six time champion at the World Pizza Games in Las Vegas, this past year competing at the International Pizza Challenge. Brittany will train you to make dough with and without a mixer, explain how to develop dough flavor, and teach you how to stretch dough with your students. We will then discuss how to fit this into short and long class times and turn these skills into revenue for your program!

Education and Training In Person Workshop
Join Josh Coleman, Education and Training Program Specialist, for a one-day, in-person workshop on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm, specifically designed for Education and Training Career and Technical Education (CTE) instructors leading Teaching Professions and Early Childhood Education programs. This workshop will provide information and updates on topics related to the Standards Revision, Middle School Programming, Work-based Learning, CTSOs, and opportunities to network and share best practices in your programs.
The workshop is free, but meals are not included. The workshop location will be the Delaware Area Career Center, Room 1501 - The Forum.

Columbus Blue Jackets FCCLA Day
The Columbus Blue Jackets invite you to the annual FCCLA Day on Thursday, December 11, 2025. The event will include the chance to engage with an educational speaker panel, skate on the arena’s NHL ice, and a CBJ game following the event.
Event Time: 12:30 p.m.- 4:30 p.m.

Beef in the Classroom Grant
The Beef in the Classroom Grant provides Ohio educators with up to $300 per school year to support lessons that incorporate cuts of beef. This program helps teachers bring real-world learning into their classrooms while reinforcing topics such as nutrition, food safety, culinary skills, agriculture, and science.
Eligibility: Open to all Ohio teachers who plan to use cuts of beef as part of a classroom lesson.
