Hospitality and Tourism Professional Development

Featuring Brittany Saxon, the Owner of Six Hundred Downtown in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Brittany is a six time champion at the World Pizza Games in Las Vegas, this past year competing at the International Pizza Challenge. Brittany will train you to make dough with and without a mixer, explain how to develop dough flavor, and teach you how to stretch dough with your students. We will then discuss how to fit this into short and long class times and turn these skills into revenue for your program!

Family and Consumer Sciences Professional Development - Featuring Zwilling

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce in partnership with Zwilling will be hosting a Family and Consumer Sciences Professional Development Meeting. This meeting will include state updates and content based professional development.

Education and Training Standards Revision Teacher Panels

The standards revision for the Education and Training Pathway continues! We will be looking for a panel of instructors in Education and Training pathway programs to help re-write existing, and/or draft new standards based on the Industry Panel feedback from the data analysis of the Public Comment Survey. If you are interested in participating in the Instructor Review Panel to help complete this work, please be sure to complete the survey link below to have your name added as a candidate to the pool.

 

The Instructor Review Panels will meet for 1-2 hours once a week, Monday afternoons at 3:30 p.m. over the course of a few weeks, until the standards revision has been completed.


Education and Training In Person Workshop

Join Josh Coleman, Education and Training Program Specialist, for a one-day, in-person workshop on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm, specifically designed for Education and Training Career and Technical Education (CTE) instructors leading Teaching Professions and Early Childhood Education programs. This workshop will provide information and updates on topics related to the Standards Revision, Middle School Programming, Work-based Learning, CTSOs, and opportunities to network and share best practices in your programs.


The workshop is free, but meals are not included. The workshop location will be the Delaware Area Career Center, Room 1501 - The Forum.

WebXam Teacher Reviews

The purpose of the WebXam review workshops is to allow Career-Technical Education instructors a formal opportunity to review and comment on WebXam operational test forms. The workshop reviews should also be viewed as a tool the instructors can use to drive future instruction. The review workshops will be held onsite at CETE or, as a second option, hosted offsite at a local district through special arrangements. Individuals participating in the reviews will be required to sign a nondisclosure agreement that includes policy stating that sharing of any information attained during the review is strictly prohibited. The cost per teacher is $60.

Beef in the Classroom Grant

The Beef in the Classroom Grant provides Ohio educators with up to $300 per school year to support lessons that incorporate cuts of beef. This program helps teachers bring real-world learning into their classrooms while reinforcing topics such as nutrition, food safety, culinary skills, agriculture, and science.

Eligibility: Open to all Ohio teachers who plan to use cuts of beef as part of a classroom lesson.

Fall Leadership Training

Fall Leadership Training is an exciting opportunity for Ohio FCCLA members and advisers to connect, collaborate, and grow. This statewide event focuses on developing strong leadership skills, strengthening team dynamics, and deepening your understanding of FCCLA programs. Through interactive workshops and hands-on activities, participants will gain practical tools and insights that translate directly into real-world success. Don’t miss your chance to be part of the Ultimate Leadership Experience, where inspiration meets action!

Dates: Session 1: October 20-21, 2025; Session 2: October 21-22, 2025 (125 attendees per session)

Columbus Blue Jackets FCCLA Day

The Columbus Blue Jackets invite you to the annual FCCLA Day on Thursday, December 11, 2025. The event will include the chance to engage with an educational speaker panel, skate on the arena’s NHL ice, and a CBJ game following the event.


Event Time: 12:30 p.m.- 4:30 p.m.

Advisers, registration for the 2025 Online Fall FCCLA Challenge Tests is now open in the FCCLA Portal under Meetings & Events > 2025 Online Fall FCCLA Challenge Test Registration.


  • Registration Deadline: October 10, 2025
  • Invoice Due Date: October 17, 2025
  • Testing Window: October 20 – November 21, 2025 (8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. ET)


New this year: Five additional Challenge Tests have been added:

Dirt To Dinner: In the Classroom

Are you looking for fun, interactive lessons that teach your students (grades 5-8 and grades 9-12) about the entire food system? Dirt To Dinner: In the Classroom has created ten lessons designed to fit two grade bands: 5-8, and 9-12. All lessons contain detailed lesson plans and supporting materials for an engaging and age-appropriate lesson. Our team has been hard at work this summer and we're delighted to share the fruits of that labor with you!

 

Four New Back to School Lessons:
